Work Experience

2019 - Current

Digital Presence - Lake Forest Resale

I designed a website and upped traffic on all social media sites for Lake Forest Resale. I photograph and post our entire store inventory of clothing on Depop and Poshmark and eBay. This helps with sales where I can reach people out of state and even out of the country. Since I have been at LF Resale, we have a new website, now over 2,500 followers on our commerce sites, and just an overall community awareness we didn't have before.

Summer 2019

Media Intern - Mandalay Sports Media

At Mandalay, I was able to aid in production on 3 different documentaries. I was given the opportunity to be on set and watch interviews be conducted and help with set up and break down of various equipment. The documentaries were on Michael Jordan, the 2008 Women's Olympic Volleyball Team and The Comedy Store. I did script coverage and learned how the TV and Entertainment industries function. This helped me further my career in sports media and provided connections throughout Los Angeles.

2018 - Current

Owner - Scrunchie Mama

My business is called Scrunchie Mama. I began in 2018, making apparel and accessories. It has been a journey, including a cease and desist case from Disney and LucasFilms LLC. I hand-make accessories and my apparel pieces and ship them to customers worldwide. I am in charge of production, social media, setting up online presence, customer service and shipping orders. Building and maintaining my business while in school has been amazing and really opened my eyes to what business owners deal with on a day to day basis. This helps me relate to my clients infinitely better and design what they envision.

Education

2019 - Current

Lake Forest College

I major in Business Marketing and Journalism with a minor in digital and graphic design. I am on the volleyball team, the ultimate frisbee team, I am the PR and Marketing director for Tri Delta and I am the sports editor for the paper. I am in the Entrepreneurship Society and love to be involved on campus. I am pursuing my education while working, getting many work opportunities in downtown Lake Forest which has been fun and a very enriching experience.

2016 - 2019

Knox College

I majored in Social Media Marketing and journalism. After my junior year, I made the decision to transfer to Lake Forest College. My experience at Knox was valuable to my education and I achieved many accolades, including being on the dean's list for 6 terms, gaining four awards for my work as the Sports Editor of the paper, and was able to grow and establish my own business during my time there.

Interests

I have many interests on and off campus. Besides the aforementioned, I am the PR and Marketing chair for Delta Delta Delta, I am the sports editor for the Stentor Newspaper, and I am in the Entrepreneurship Society. I enjoy running my own business as well, where I make apparel and accessories by hand. My business has taken off on Etsy and it is very exciting to see the evolution. Outside of being a student and my side hustles, I enjoy making art for non-academic purposes and playing the guitar. I also have two geckos and enjoy fostering reptiles for a local shelter.
